Our congregation includes a growing number of Sgaw Karen (Ka*Ren) parishioners (an ethnic group originally from Myanmar or Burma).

We offer several ministries tailored to the cultural needs of the Karen community:

  • Our 8:30 a.m. Sunday service includes Sgaw Karen translation. There is an interpreter (using personal radios) to translate the sermon. The Gospel is read in both English and Karen.
  • Our Adult Sunday School has offered an English Conversation Class, Practice for the Citizenship Test, or Bible Study depending on needs. English speakers help Karen students with English practice, citizenship study and filling out forms or applications.
  • We can also help with transportation for those without cars. Please call if you need a ride to church.
