adult education

“We must no longer be children, tossed to and fro and blown about by every wind of doctrine… But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ…”

WHAT WE DO

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL

Discipleship involves a lifelong process of growth in personal holiness and in our understanding of the Christian faith. We believe that as a part of that God calls each of us to exercise our mind. Our goal at Messiah is to present learning opportunities for adults that are solidly based in Scripture and creed, and at the same time connect with the issues of daily life in ways that are practical and challenging. Adult education is offered on Sunday mornings at 10 during the school year in the Loft on the third floor (also accessible through Zoom), concurrently with the children’s and youth programs.

LIBRARY

The Messiah Library is across the hall just beyond the offices side of the Gathering Space. Our collection of more than 1,300 volumes has been recently pruned, streamlined, and labeled for easy browsing. We have  holdings in biblical studies, biblical theology, Christian living and other topics, organized according to the  Library of Congress system There is a children’s section, an audio-visual section, and several Christian periodicals. There are comfortable chairs for reading on-site, and materials (except reference) may be checked out for three weeks in the 3-ring binder. The collection is accessible (and searchable) online.

Recordings of adult forums

Our fall series is on the Way of Love incorporating the following themes that echo the sermon topic for the week: TURN, LEARN, PRAY, WORSHIP, BLESS, GO, and REST.
